Crime Prevention Unit

Our Crime Prevention Team was recently recognized as Outstanding Crime Prevention Unit for their hard work and dedication for communities under a population of 100,000.

Our Crime Prevention Team attempts to reduce victimization and deter crime by target hardening. Our team proudly forges community partnerships and proactively addresses public safety issues such as crime, social disorder and fear of crime.

Our mission is to empower and equip our residents by educating and increasing awareness about crime-related issues in order to reduce opportunities. As our population is increasingly digital, the Department now offers the following means of digital communication:

  • Facebook — Informs the community of various programs & activities offered by the Department
  • Twitter — Provides notice of time sensitive information to the community
